OK, its time to have a real bitch.
When I came to Canada almost nine years ago part of me missed the UK. After a few years I treated myself to a brand new Freelander, a great little SUV and a pleasure to drive and a true British thoroughbred.
Well fast forward 5 years and a mere 75,000km's and the engine is unrepairable. After much Internet searching, forums and many calls to experts in Canada and the UK it seems that the Rover 2.5l V6 engine has some major design flaws. Bottom line it starts with the symptoms of a blown head gasket but in reality is a dislodged cylinder sleeve, oh and Landrover cant help as the engine isn't one they made but was purchased by a company who doesn't exist any longer (Good old Rover)
What does this mean, my once wonderful Freelander is pretty much worthless and but still great to look at.
If anyone has any suggestions or has similar stories feel free to have a bitch!!!
In the meantime I have had to buy a cheap and cheerful run around to keep me going at least the three cars in the drive looks impressive!
Glad that's of my chest, I have many other things to say about the situation but have kept those to myself!
