The first visitors of the year.

One thing about living in a different Continent to family is that we almost always have one or two visits a year from friends or family.
Last week my niece and her husband, Lydia and Pete came for a 10 day visit. It was for both of them their first trip to Canada so everything was / is new.
Having visitors is always good, we did the regular touristy things which we dont normally do but always enjoy.
They done the normal, "take it easy" day after arriving with the mandatory trip to St Jacobs, not my cup of tea but all visitors enjoy the day.
After a few relaxing days we took an overnight stay to Niagara to do the normal stuff. I never get bored with visiting the falls, I have been countless times but each time I am in awe at the majestic view. We done the "Maid of the mist" boat ride, the timing was perfect, as soon as we put on our very trendy blue rain covers the heavens opened for a torrential thunder storm. As we got close to the horseshoe falls the lightning was flashing above the falls, it really added to the experience, and guess what we got very wet!
In the morning after a great buffet breakfast we visited Marineland. The weather was much better, sunny with occasional clouds which made the long walks a little easier to manage. This was the first time I have visited Marineland and I was surprised how few staff they have, it was very quiet in the park and there were no queues to any rides, that being said many were closed. None the less we had a good time, Claire and Scott had a blast on the scary rides as you can see.
Today they are heading to Toronto for the night to experiance the sights and sounds of the big city.
