This weekend was our local community garage sale, what an ideal time to conduct some real Spring cleaning, aka Spring clear outs!
The sale was advertised to start at 8:00am, not too early but it needed the alarm clock. Claire did a great job of sorting out a reasonable amount of saleables, typically cloths toys kitchenware and a few other miscellaneous items.
Come 7:30am I opened my garage and started to put the table and larger items on show, wow I was surprised how keen many people are, before I could turn around there were people in the garage looking around. Some people must be desperate for a bargain!
Generally the sale went very well but Scott did manage to buy some large items from a neigbour, that wasn't in the plans!
Once the sale was in full swing, typically 10 plus people looking around our items we decided to advertise the Freelander (See car woes article), "2004 Freelander, needs engine, ask for details" surprisingly we had a little interest and managed to sell the car. It was a hard thing to do, we sold it for around 10% of its value but with the engine needing replacement we were stuck in a real hole! Thankfully this year the weather was great, normally mother nature has a laugh and soaks the day but this year we were lucky to have sunshine all morning and afternoon.
Roll on next years Garage sale!!

Wow, haven't seen any of the neighbours putting their vehicles into the sale before! Too bad you couldn't recover more $$.
